Hello,
Like many of you I enjoyed playing in arcades and with computers and game consoles as a child growing up in the 80s. I've owned many different makes and models of systems in the past and have fond memories of time spent playing on them. Now that I've grown up, I find myself drawn back to those systems. I've started collecting.
One of the hardest parts of collecting is maintaining the collection. If you are like me, you like to troubleshoot and repair them. There's a tremendous amount of satisfaction in repairing your own systems, but where do you get parts?
Here at ArcadeComponents we have a mixed inventory of new and used components. Why used? Well, most of these systems are so old that technology has blown them by. Most of the custom chips are no longer available. Some of them are programmed off-the-shelf logic chips that haven't been in production in over 15 years!
Where possible all parts are tested to ensure that you will be buying something to help you maintain your collection. How do we do this? We have testbed systems as well as a variety of component testers that help us to deliver a quality component at a fair price.
As an added option we can even custom program EPROMs, serial EEPROMs, and Flash ROMs with your own code!
If there's a generic replacement for a part, we'll also tell you. This way you can make the decision to restore it back the way it was with an original part or to put an equivalent in to restore functionality only.
As always, if you are restoring something and have a need for a part that is hard to find, drop us a message. We would be happy to help you source your part if we can.
From all of us at ArcadeComponents I would like to say thank you for your business.
Sincerely,
Raymond
